Fernandez's failure ends his remaining title hopes
Raul Fernandez retired from the Aragon Grand Prix with a mechanical problem while running sixth. The Trackhouse rider did not disclose the failed component. He nevertheless says he had found pace in warm-up that made him consider a podium after a much harder start to the weekend.
The contrast with Silverstone is severe: three weeks after winning, he scored nothing and believes his small chance of fighting for the championship has evaporated. His retirement alone does not condemn the Aprilia, as Bezzecchi finished on the podium and Martin limited the damage in fifth.
Trackhouse must identify the failure before the next round and establish that it is not a repeat risk. Fernandez, already confirmed with the team through 2028, can now focus on consistent results rather than a title calculation that has become unrealistic.
