Colapinto will finally have the same aero package as Gasly

Alpine will give Franco Colapinto the upgrades used by Pierre Gasly at Zandvoort. The Argentine raced the older configuration in the Netherlands, so Monza will provide a fairer comparison between the two cars. Director Steve Nielsen calls the first feedback encouraging but gives no quantified gain.

Colapinto has also been confirmed alongside Gasly for 2027. That stability reduces contractual pressure, not the sporting demand. Alpine is fighting around the points positions and must learn whether its package also works on a low-downforce circuit.

Monza cannot perfectly isolate the upgrades because the track changes set-up and energy use so heavily. The most useful indicator will be the gap to Gasly over long runs and in qualifying, now that both drivers have the same hardware.
