Norris and McLaren lock in their future through 2030

Lando Norris has extended with McLaren until at least the end of 2030, with a multi-year option beyond that date. His previous deal was believed to expire after 2027. McLaren therefore removes the 2025 world champion from a driver market expected to become active around 2028, while matching the end date of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull contract.

At 26, Norris has 13 wins, 18 poles and 48 podiums from 163 Grands Prix for McLaren. By the end of this deal he will have completed 12 seasons as a race driver with the team, matching Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes tenure.

Oscar Piastri is signed through 2028, giving McLaren the same pair for at least two more seasons. The agreement secures continuity without pre-deciding the internal hierarchy: Piastri’s ambition to become the project’s sole focal point must continue alongside Norris.
