Martín accepts fifth place and protects what matters most

Jorge Martín finished fifth after briefly running fourth before Pedro Acosta passed him. The championship leader has lacked rear support since Friday and was riding the RS-GP at MotorLand for the first time after missing the 2025 event through injury. In that context, he considered fifth better than expected.

The soft rear helped early but faded, leaving him unable to follow Acosta. Martín had not tested the medium and declined to race it without a reference; he now plans to use it over Sunday’s 23 laps for a better balance.

Damage limitation worked: he conceded seven points to Marc and two to Bezzecchi. With 245 points he will leave Aragón as leader whatever happens, but the one-lap gap to his team-mate remains. Aprilia’s data comparison is now central to his Sunday recovery.
