Bagnaia and Quartararo must go through Q1

Francesco Bagnaia finished Practice 13th after making a mistake on his final flying lap. Fabio Quartararo was 14th and the leading Yamaha, but neither world champion secured a top-ten place and direct passage to Q2.

Q1 offers only two transfer spots and adds a pressure session before the pole fight. Bagnaia must recover the precision missing from his last lap; Quartararo needs more from a Yamaha that placed no bike inside the top ten.

The danger extends beyond a modest qualifying result. Starting behind the favourites at MotorLand complicates front-tyre management and costs time in traffic. Their first Saturday target is therefore not pole but a clean escape from a Q1 already loaded with fast riders.
