Honda pulls clear of Yamaha: 137 points to 84
The battle between the Japanese manufacturers is becoming increasingly one-sided. After Misano, Honda has 137 points in the constructors’ standings to Yamaha’s 84, a gap of 53. Autosport also notes that since the post-summer-break restart, Honda has scored almost twice as many points as its rival.
Misano itself did not produce a spectacular result: Marini finished ninth and Quartararo tenth. What is changing is the repeatability. Honda is now more regularly putting several bikes in the upper half of the field, while Yamaha still relies heavily on Quartararo for its best results. With the Frenchman due to join Honda in a few months, the direction of travel between the two brands is becoming almost as important as their absolute level against the European manufacturers.
