Ferrari and Racing Bulls begin two days of Pirelli testing at Imola
Formula 1 is already back on track on Tuesday and Wednesday at Imola, although there is no Grand Prix. Ferrari and Racing Bulls are taking part in Pirelli’s next two development days for the slick tyres planned for 2027. The test continues the programme run at Mugello in late August with McLaren, Red Bull and Audi.
The aim is not to compare team lap times: Pirelli gives the teams different programmes to evaluate several prototype compounds. At this stage of the season, these sessions mainly help the tyre supplier narrow its options ahead of final homologation. Ferrari and Racing Bulls also gain extra running between Madrid and Baku, but the tyre data and test programme remain controlled by Pirelli.
