Ducati edges Aprilia by two points in the constructors’ standings

Misano also flipped the MotoGP constructors’ championship. Ducati now has 412 points to Aprilia’s 410. Before the weekend Aprilia still led by 15, meaning the San Marino round produced a 17-point swing.

The rules do not add together every bike from the same manufacturer: only the best result for each brand counts in the Sprint and then the Grand Prix. Marc Márquez gave Ducati the maximum with 12 points on Saturday and 25 on Sunday, for 37 in total. Aprilia scored 20 through Bezzecchi’s second place in the Sprint and Martín’s fifth in the race. With eight rounds remaining, the two manufacturers are now virtually level.
