KTM hopes to recover 500 rpm but is still waiting for confirmation
KTM could restore around 500 rpm at Misano after reducing engine speed as a precaution following reliability concerns. The manufacturer received permission to open seven engines, replace the suspect parts and reseal them. Aragón passed without an obvious alarm and Pedro Acosta finished second, but KTM has not yet confirmed that maximum revs will return fully at Misano.
Pol Espargaró says the missing 500 rpm affects more than top speed. Lower revs force different gearing to avoid the limiter before braking zones, changing acceleration and corner behaviour.
Friday speed and acceleration data will provide the first reliable clue.
