Haas’ major upgrade delivers a first positive signal

Oliver Bearman put Haas eighth in FP2 and described the car as much more predictable with the new chassis and bodywork introduced at Monza. It is the first major package since Canada, and Bearman also has Ferrari’s upgraded engine.

A strong tow helped and Monza cannot reveal the package’s full aerodynamic potential, but improved stability in fast corners addresses one of Haas’ main problems. Ocon finished only 18th after a right-rear issue and a disrupted programme; Haas still needs to understand the gap before qualifying.
