Gasly loses his Monaco podium three months later

The FIA International Court of Appeal has reinstated Pierre Gasly’s two five-second penalties for pit-lane speeding in Monaco. Alpine had succeeded in removing them through a right of review, but McLaren and Red Bull’s appeals were upheld. Gasly officially drops from third to seventh, while Isack Hadjar inherits the podium, Oscar Piastri moves to fourth, Liam Lawson fifth and Arvid Lindblad sixth.

The change costs Gasly nine points and rewrites a result almost three months old. The case also triggered a paddock dispute after Flavio Briatore questioned a judge’s independence, an accusation rejected by Andrea Stella and the FIA. The FIA has also announced a review of its timing methodology and parts of the review and appeal process.
