Moreira claims the second factory Honda seat

Diogo Moreira believes he has shown enough to deserve the factory Honda seat alongside Fabio Quartararo in 2027. The LCR rookie was the best Honda rider and the first Japanese-manufacturer representative home at Aragon. He has five top-10 finishes this season and has finished lower than 11th only once since Catalunya.

Moreira says the current RC213V’s realistic ceiling is around sixth or seventh with the available package. He has reached Q2 directly several times and did so again at Aragon before racing with Ducatis.

Honda has also signed David Alonso for 2027 without saying where he will race and must distribute its young riders between the factory team and LCR while considering Johann Zarco. Promoting Moreira would reward his recent progress; keeping him at LCR would preserve a productive environment.
