Lawson had to prepare Monza for two cars before Wednesday’s call

Liam Lawson only learned on Wednesday that he would again replace Isack Hadjar at Red Bull. Until then he worked with both Red Bull and Racing Bulls engineers and prepared in the simulator for either car, which he describes as very different in balance and response despite the common power unit.

This time Lawson has three practice sessions after finishing seventh at Zandvoort during a Sprint weekend. He highlights Red Bull’s high-speed grip as a major difference, while Monza presents a very different aerodynamic and energy challenge.

Hadjar continues recovering from his wrist injury with no confirmed return date beyond Monza. A second consecutive race gives Red Bull another measure of Lawson’s adaptability on a circuit unlike Zandvoort.
