Ferrari gains power without claiming the gap is closed

Charles Leclerc confirms Ferrari’s power-unit upgrade will bring “a little more power” at Monza, addressing what he calls the Scuderia’s weakness on a circuit dominated by long straights. Lewis Hamilton says Ferrari was losing around four tenths per lap in the Zandvoort race despite the short lap.

Neither driver presents the new specification as a complete fix. Hamilton calls it a step that does not erase the deficit, while Leclerc points to Silverstone and Spa as weekends where Ferrari compensated for an unfavourable profile with near-perfect execution. Monza-specific parts still have to balance top speed, braking stability and electrical management.

The real measure will be Ferrari’s gap to Mercedes and McLaren over long full-throttle sections and race runs, not only a qualifying gain.
