Martín stays ahead, but his challengers close ranks

The championship leaves Aragón with Jorge Martín on 256 points, Marc Márquez on 237 and Marco Bezzecchi on 232. The leader therefore retains 19 points over the Ducati rider and 24 over his Aprilia team-mate. Márquez moves into second; Bezzecchi drops to third despite reducing his own deficit to Martín.

The leader’s two fifth places deliver 16 points for the weekend: 5 in the Sprint and 11 in the Grand Prix. Against Márquez’s 37, that means a loss of 21 points. The gap between the Spaniards falls from 40 before Aragón to 19 after the race. Martín neither retired nor finished outside the points; two modest results against a clean sweep are enough to cut his cushion sharply.

Behind the leading trio, Fabio Di Giannantonio is fourth on 208 points. Ai Ogura, absent this weekend, remains on 203 and drops to fifth, 53 behind the leader. The interruption therefore also costs positions to a contender already unable to score.

Misano, on September 11–13, will offer the first answer to this new picture. Aprilia still has two riders in the top three: a collective asset, but also two intact individual ambitions. At this stage, there is no basis for treating the championship as an exclusively Martín–Márquez duel.
