Cadillac finds pace but still has no points to convert

Cadillac remains scoreless after twelve rounds of its first Formula 1 season. Sergio Perez finished fifteenth at Zandvoort and Valtteri Bottas retired with a hydraulic problem, while Fernando Alonso scored two points for Aston Martin, who sit tenth on three points immediately ahead of eleventh-placed Cadillac. Bottas's thirteenth place in China remains Cadillac's best finish.

Perez nevertheless felt the Dutch pace was strong after several component and set-up changes. He also acknowledges that the team has not improved as much as hoped and that a review of its methods became necessary after repeated disappointments and reliability problems. The distinction matters: encouraging speed over some stints is not yet a complete performance.

Cadillac's next step is not merely finding a few tenths. It must link qualifying, reliability and strategy without interruption to turn potential into a first top ten. Until that sequence appears, the standings remain the firmest verdict.
