Pramac picks Guevara to enter Yamaha's new era

Prima Pramac Yamaha has promoted Izan Guevara to MotoGP for 2027. The 2022 Moto3 world champion will join Toprak Razgatlioglu, who remains part of Yamaha's long-term project, while Jack Miller will leave the team at the end of 2026. Guevara is the third rookie already confirmed for next year's grid after David Alonso and Daniel Holgado.

The decision rewards a career that regained momentum after two difficult Moto2 seasons. A winner in the 2025 finale and a regular frontrunner this year, Guevara sits second in the intermediate-class standings and remains focused on that title fight. Pramac is therefore retaining a rider it already knows instead of recruiting solely from the MotoGP market.

The technical context matters: engines fall to 850cc in 2027 and the championship changes tyre supplier. Yamaha believes that collective reset removes part of a rookie's usual disadvantage. It guarantees no result, but gives Guevara and Pramac a learning season in which every manufacturer must rebuild its references.
