Aldeguer joins VR46 with a factory Ducati

Fermín Aldeguer will leave Gresini for Pertamina Enduro VR46 in 2027 and 2028. The move also changes his status: the Spaniard will become an official Ducati Corse rider and receive a factory Desmosedici GP. With a new motorcycle and new tyres arriving in 2027, direct access to factory equipment and engineers matters far more than a simple change of garage.

Ducati is protecting one of its most promising investments. Aldeguer was the 2025 Rookie of the Year after three podiums and a maiden MotoGP victory in Indonesia. Despite missing three races through injury this season, he sits 11th in the standings and has scored a podium in Catalunya. VR46 offers a strong environment for developing young riders while gaining a rider tied directly to Ducati.

The previous article said Gresini now had to complete its line-up. That was incorrect: Joan Mir and Daniel Holgado have already been announced for 2027. The real story is how Ducati is distributing its assets for the new rules, and how Aldeguer is receiving the support required to turn outright speed into consistent results.
