Martín undergoes checks Wednesday before deciding on possible surgery

The situation around Jorge Martín's right arm enters a new phase today. The Aprilia rider is due to be examined by specialists in Barcelona on Wednesday after the arm-pump problem that prevented him from defending a potential win at Misano. He is then expected to travel normally to the Red Bull Ring and race in Austria.

Austria will act as a real-world test. If the problem returns, Martín and his medical team will decide after the weekend whether another operation is needed. Surgery could theoretically still allow him to return for Japan on October 4, but no decision has been made. With Martín and Marc Márquez tied on 274 points, the medical question is now directly connected to the title fight.
