Practice starts at pit exit will be banned across MotoGP from 2027

The Grand Prix Commission has formalised a new rule for 2027: riders will no longer be allowed to carry out practice starts at pit-lane exit, regardless of the circuit. The ban already existed at a large part of the calendar but will now become universal.

The Commission has also reset Moto2’s technical concession system for the start of 2027. Triumph will introduce a new engine specification, forcing every chassis manufacturer to begin from a new baseline, so concession categories will be recalculated at mid-season.

It is not a MotoGP revolution, but it is a clean, new regulatory change accompanying the technical transition of 2027.
