Bagnaia crashes again: four retirements in five Grands Prix

Misano was supposed to give Francesco Bagnaia a chance to reset on a circuit he knows extremely well. The weekend delivered the opposite. Fourteenth on the grid, 13th in the Sprint and already highly critical of his feeling on Saturday, the Ducati rider crashed in Sunday’s race and failed to finish. It was his fourth retirement in the last five Grands Prix.

The contrast with the other factory Ducati is now impossible to ignore: Márquez leaves Misano leading the championship after winning both races of the weekend. There is no need to assign Bagnaia’s crash to a specific technical problem without evidence; the pattern is already clear. Even at one of his benchmark circuits, he could not escape the spiral that has followed his GP26 for several rounds.
