Ogura also misses Misano and drops out of the title’s front group

Ai Ogura will miss the San Marino Grand Prix. Tuesday’s check in Barcelona showed that his left thumb, operated on after a motocross crash in Japan, had not healed enough. Trackhouse will therefore field only Raúl Fernández at Misano.

Ogura was third in the championship before the injury and is now fifth with 203 points, 53 behind Jorge Martín. He will have missed two weekends carrying up to 74 points in total after also sitting out Aragón.

His new target is a return in Austria the following week. Medically, avoiding an early comeback protects the rest of his season; competitively, the gap is becoming very difficult to recover. Trackhouse also loses a key reference against the factory Aprilias on a circuit the manufacturer knows extremely well.
