Red Bull brings its final major 2026 package and shifts toward 2027

Baku marks Red Bull’s final major planned upgrade of the season. The package includes five declared changes, including a new floor, revised sidepods and altered mirror geometry. Verstappen and Hadjar are running the same specification.

Laurent Mekies has also confirmed that the vast majority of the team’s resources are now devoted to the 2027 car. Red Bull will keep working on the current RB22, but Baku should represent its final genuine material step of the year.

The first signal is mixed: Verstappen finished third in FP2, while Hadjar recovered to ninth after a power-unit issue disrupted his FP1. The package is working well enough to evaluate, but not yet well enough to put Red Bull ahead of Mercedes.
