Martín rules out forearm surgery after the Austrian weekend

Jorge Martín will not undergo forearm surgery this Monday after all. Following the arm-pump problem that had caused his pace to drop at Misano, the Aprilia rider wanted to use the Austrian weekend to determine whether an operation had become necessary. He completed both the Sprint and all 28 Grand Prix laps without a major recurrence.

Martín believes the therapies he has followed since Misano and the improved feeling on the bike are moving things in the right direction. Surgery remains an option to reconsider if the symptoms return, but it is no longer the immediate scenario as the decisive phase of the championship begins.

From a sporting perspective, the decision matters as much as his 306 points. An operation could have disrupted his preparation for Motegi. For now, the championship leader will therefore continue the season with conservative treatment and no scheduled interruption.
