Álex Márquez says a brake that stayed engaged caused his crash
Álex Márquez has offered his explanation for the unusual accident that brought out the red flag in Practice. Exiting the first corner, his Ducati was upright when the front wheel came back down after lifting slightly. According to the Gresini rider, a brake had remained partially engaged, causing the crash. He says he was not injured.
His morning had already been disrupted when part of the fairing came loose, preventing him from carrying out some technical comparisons. Despite those two incidents, Márquez returned to the track on his second bike and finished eighth. The key result is preserved: direct entry to Q2, even though his work programme was seriously disrupted.
