Ogura goes from 19th to the top three on his comeback day

Ai Ogura received medical clearance to continue throughout the Austrian Grand Prix after taking part in FP1. Nineteenth in the morning, the Trackhouse rider then set the third-fastest time in Practice, 0.187 seconds behind Acosta, securing direct entry to Q2.

After missing Aragón and Misano with his hand injury, the Japanese rider returns with a performance that exceeds his own expectations: he says he had not even expected to finish in the top ten. This third-fastest time comes just 22 days after his operation. The single-lap speed is already there; he still has to confirm it over the full distance of the Sprint and then the Grand Prix.
