Márquez explains his arm photo and wants to focus on the title
Marc Márquez explained at Misano why he had published a photograph showing the muscle atrophy in his right shoulder and arm. He says repeated questions about his physical condition take up his energy. Showing the reality of his condition is intended to shift the conversation back to racing, without suggesting that his limitations have disappeared. He stresses that their effects vary from circuit to circuit.
Márquez has clawed back 66 points on Martín over the last six rounds, from Hungary to Aragón. His Sprint and Grand Prix double in Aragón brought him all 37 available points and cut his deficit to the leader to 19. Yet he does not regard that success as a guarantee for Misano: Bezzecchi pushed him to the limit there in 2025, a duel that gives him reason to take his Italian rival very seriously this weekend.
His priority is to devote his energy to performance, accepting the risks involved in fighting for the title. Opening practice will offer a chance to assess his pace and consistency, but cannot by itself measure the impact of his physical condition. His own feedback will remain necessary to understand what is troubling him at this circuit.
