Razgatlioglu is starting to show pace his results still hide

Toprak Razgatlioglu still has not finished a MotoGP Grand Prix inside the top 10, but his mid-race pace in Aragón offered a different reading of his season. On lap 12, while only 15th, just five riders were lapping faster. One lap later he still had the seventh-best pace on track and was the fastest Yamaha.

The progress did not survive to the finish. Front-tyre degradation slowed the Pramac rider sharply in the closing laps before he crashed on lap 21 of 23. His best result therefore remains 11th, but Gino Borsoi believes that sequence confirms Razgatlioglu is rediscovering speed capable of bringing him closer to the top 10.

The problem is becoming more specific: Razgatlioglu can now produce competitive pace for part of a stint, but cannot yet sustain it to the end. His extensive Pirelli experience in WorldSBK could also become particularly valuable in 2027, when MotoGP switches from Michelin to the Italian supplier.
