Márquez has gained 107 points on Bezzecchi since Mugello
After the Italian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez trailed Marco Bezzecchi by 102 points. Three months later he is five points ahead, 237 to 232. The swing between the two riders is therefore 107 points since Mugello. Jorge Martín still leads the championship on 256, 19 ahead of Márquez.
The statistic mainly shows the speed of Márquez’s comeback after injury. The Ducati rider has now rejoined the direct title fight with nine rounds left. His perfect 37-point Aragón weekend also means he can mathematically take the championship lead at Misano.
Bezzecchi is still firmly in the battle. He is only 24 points behind Martín and returns to a circuit where Aprilia and the Italian riders have extensive reference data. The 107-point swing therefore says less about a permanent collapse than about a championship that has been completely reshaped in a few months.
