Vasseur answers Leclerc: Ferrari will bring upgrades ‘soon’

Charles Leclerc said after Baku that Ferrari must keep developing its car. Frédéric Vasseur has now responded: new parts are indeed planned, although he still refuses to say at which race they will arrive.

The Ferrari team principal shares part of his driver’s diagnosis. He acknowledges that Ferrari’s chassis advantage has shrunk, or even disappeared, while McLaren and Red Bull introduced their own upgrades. In Baku, the Scuderia also had to remove downforce to offset its straight-line speed deficit, losing time elsewhere around the lap.

Vasseur’s response therefore genuinely moves the story on from yesterday: we still do not know exactly when Ferrari’s next package will arrive, but we now know the team has not frozen the SF-26 and still plans more upgrades before fully switching focus to 2027.
