Márquez closes to fourteen points despite Bezzecchi’s record pole

Marco Bezzecchi struck first in qualifying with a record 1m29.982s lap, the first ever sub-1m30 lap at Misano. Marc Márquez started second but took the lead at the first braking zone of the Sprint. Running a medium rear while Bezzecchi chose the soft, the Ducati rider controlled the 13 laps and won ahead of the Aprilia and Jorge Martín.

The 12 points move Márquez to 249, against 263 for Martín and 241 for Bezzecchi, leaving the top three covered by 22 points. On Sunday, a Márquez win combined with Martín finishing fifth would put both on 274 points, with Márquez ahead on the tiebreak. Bezzecchi still keeps pole for the Grand Prix, where tyre choice and durability can reshape the balance.
